Glastonbury weather watch: conflicting forecasts

As previously reported, BBC Weather's forecast suggested that it will rain for the duration of the festival weekend (June 22-24).

However, according to Met Office website Metcheck.com the outlook is slightly more optimistic. According to themm, Saturday (June 23) will be completely rain free, while Friday (June 22) will only see rain in the afternoon.

Nine Black Alps premiere new songs at Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival

Nine Black Alps showcased three new songs at the Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival this afternoon (August 26).

The Manchester four-piece attracted a huge crowd over at the NME/Radio 1 Tent as the band powered through a set which leaned heavily towards their debut 'Everything Is'.

The quartet also took time to perform a host of downbeat new tracks 'Bitter End', 'Heavier Than Water' and current single 'Burn Faster' from their forthcoming album 'Love/Hate'.

Of the new songs singer Sam Forrest told NME.COM: "We spent two years travelling around the world playing the same songs over and over again so I wanted to do something different with the new songs.

"Screaming my head off night after night with the first album started to give me migraines. Eventually I had to see an osteopath because I did my neck in, I was screaming that loud. A lot of the songs are just sadder, less angry there, less venting of the spleen."
